My name is Charlene Fritz. I am a passionate advocate for the art of living well. My life has taken me to the far reaches of the globe and this has no doubt impacted me as a person and as a teacher. I believe that compassion and courage can carry anyone to a life full of beauty and adventure. I also believe that a life well lived in the details of the simple moments, is the foundation to happiness, peace and a much slower and enjoyable pace. When we stop and take the time to enjoy life, life becomes more enjoyable!

I have honed a unique balance between the practice and teaching of yoga alongside my enjoyment and teaching of the great wines of the world. What may have seemed contradictory at first, is in fact the very thing that continually gives me balance and draws beauty moments into my life. These two passions are at the centre of most everything I do.

My education in wine began as a young server at a charming Relais & Chateâux hotel on top a mountain on Vancouver Island. The maitre d’ of the dining room instilled in me respect for a very high level of service in cuisine and wine. Little did I know that a beginning of a big love affair with wine had begun and it would change the course of my life.

Toronto became home some years later and I took this opportunity to better apply my wine skills in hospitality and educate myself further in a classroom setting. Most of my wine education has been through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), I hold certifications for levels I, II, and III. I have also acquired a Masters Diploma from the Wine Scholar Guild, specializing in the wines of France’s Burgundy region. What has no doubt educated me the most, have been my experiences traveling to many of the world’s wine regions, seeing first hand everything I learned from text books.

Travel and cuisine are tremendous passions of mine. When I am not learning and teaching about wine or yoga, I can usually be found in my kitchen creating something to eat for my friends and loved ones. When I’m not cozy at home, I can be happily found on a plane bound for somewhere exciting and inspirational. I currently reside in Tofino Canada, so in between all of this I adventure out into nature as much as possible. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website, I hope to connect with you soon.
